Hamburg SV defender, Stephan Ambrosius, has received a late call-up to the Black Stars squad for their international friendlies against Mexico and the USA this month.

The 24-year-old has been brought in to replace the injured Daniel Amartey and is currently in camp in Charlotte, preparing for the two upcoming matches.

Ambrosius, a former Germany U21 player who completed his international switch to Ghana last year, made his Black Stars debut against Liberia at the Accra Sports Stadium last month.

In another late call-up, Kingsley Schindler replaces the injured Tariq Lamptey for Ghana's international friendly games against Mexico and the United States.

The 29-year-old, who was born in Germany but has one cap for Ghana, has arrived in Charlotte to join the rest of the squad for the two matches. He currently plays for the Turkish Super Lig side, Samsunspor.

Tariq Lamptey, initially part of the squad announced for the two matches, has been forced to withdraw due to injury.

Ghana is set to face Mexico on Saturday, October 14, at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, followed by a match against the United States of America on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
