Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has addressed recent claims suggesting that the current Black Stars players lack commitment to the national team.
In an interview with Akoma FM, Asante Twum dismissed the allegations, expressing disbelief at the notion.
Despite his disappointment with the team's performance in their 1-1 draw against Niger during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, he reaffirmed his belief in the players' dedication.
“I do not buy the ideology that these players are not committed," Asante Twum stated. "I've not recovered from the shock. I cannot believe how poor we were on the day and how ordinary the team was in our game against Niger.”
The Black Stars had a difficult international break, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Angola before the draw with Niger, leaving their chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON hanging in the balance.
As the team prepares for future qualifiers, Asante Twum remains confident in their ability to turn things around, despite the recent setbacks.
