The Black Stars of Ghana has qualified to the next African Cup of Nation in Ghana after beating Mauritius by two goals to nil.

  After a barren first half of proceedings in the game, captain of the side and Swansea City's attacker Dede Ayew opened the scoring on the 71st minutes with Christian Atsu Twasam extending the lead to two some few minutes on the 74th minute to make it a double celebration in the game on a spot which was the match winning goals of the game that has led the country to her 21st AFCON participation.

  The game gave Atletico Madrid and Uefa Champions League finalist Thomas Teye Partey his national team debut on the 80th minute.

  Ghana has qualified to the next AFCON along side ten other nations including the host nation Gabon. The final round of matches will be held in September to determine the rest of the six teams who will face off each other for glory come January 2017.
