Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku made his first-ever appearance for Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions against Olympique Marseille on Wednesday night.
Olympique Marseille recorded a back-to-back win over Sporting CP after inflicting a 2-0 home defeat on the Green and White lads at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
Sporting CP played the crunchy fixture with nine men after Ricardo Esgaio and Pedro Goncalves were handed red-card on 19th and 60th minute of the game.
Goals from Matteo Guendouzi and Alexis Sanchez ensured Olympique Marseille to a resounding away win in the Champions League.
Fatawu Issahaku was introduced on the 22nd minute as replacement for Japanese international Hidemasa Morita.
The 18-year-old has been struggling for regular playing time at Sporting CP since his acquisition by the Lisbon based club from Ghanaian lower-tier side Steadfast FC in a transfer fee around the region of €1.20 million.
Fatawu Issahaku has made only three league appearances — 22 minutes — for Sporting CP this season so far.
