Asante Kotoko's head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, acknowledged that Bibiani GoldStars had the upper hand and appeared stronger and tougher than his team during the first half of the match.
He made these comments following Asante Kotoko's 2-1 defeat to Bibiani GoldStars on matchday two of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, which took place at Dun's Park on Saturday.
Despite the loss, Narteh Ogum praised his team for showing improvement, particularly in the second half. He expressed his satisfaction with their performance, even in defeat.
He stated, "We were able to create a few chances. In the first half, they looked tougher and stronger than us but when we came back after halftime, we looked more settled and we were able to connect our passes and the few changes we also made brought some stability into the game upfront and that made us to create some few chances," he told StarTimes.
"To me, we have lost but I am impressed with our performance," he added.
Narteh Ogum emphasized that despite the defeat, he was impressed with the overall performance of his team.
The goals in the match included Prince Owusu Kwabena opening the scoring for GoldStars in the 66th minute, Sherif Mohammed equalizing for Asante Kotoko in the 70th minute, and Eric Bosomtwi netting the winning goal for Bibiani GoldStars in the 74th minute.
