Former Ghana international, Samuel Inkoom has stated that youth development in football plays a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing young talents to become great footballers.
Inkoom who was birthed through colts football urged the government to mainly channel their attention to grassroot football which will help nurture the next generation of football talents.
"Moving forward, if we want to see the Black Stars thrive again, we have to focus on the young one, colts football, inter-schools, that is where the government should focus," he said on UTV.
"It seems the Black Stars are exciting. They get a lot of sponsorship. There is money there but we forget that is where the players come from.
"This is where most of us were made. Myself, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and John Painstil were all products of youth football," Inkoom added.
