It was reported that Kuffour, who achieved CAF Champions League success with Hearts of Oak, stated on Onua TV that Andre Ayew, the Black Stars captain, had passed his prime and should be removed from the team to make way for emerging talents like Kudus Mohammed.

However, the former Ghana international clarified that he did not advocate for the sacking of Andre Ayew from the Black Stars.

"I have not said Andre Ayew should be sacked. Why would I say that? I spoke to Onua TV, and they asked me about the Black Stars, but I don't closely follow the team. I only watched them in their recent matches," Kuffour explained.

"I mentioned that Dede Ayew can assist the new players in the Black Stars due to his ability to communicate with them on the field. I feel he should always be part of the Black Stars to provide guidance and instill a sense of playing for the national team. However, I also mentioned that Jordan should lead the team. That is what I said. I didn't say anything else," Kuffour clarified.

It appears there was a misunderstanding regarding Kuffour's statements, and he maintains that he did not call for Andre Ayew's exclusion from the Black Stars.
