The 33-year-old hard-tackling defender, says he has been penciled down by an Asian club as talks are ongoing between him and the club.

Former Ghana international, Shilla Alhassan Illiasu, has disclosed to Kickgh.com that he could be joining a top-flight side in Asia, but was mum in mentioning the said club.

Shilla Illiasu suffered a career threatening ankle injury and was out of active football for almost three years. Shilla has now returned to the field and he's working his way out to get back to his profession by playing in abroad.

"Honestly speaking, there're a lot in the pipeline regarding offers," he told Kickgh.com in an exclusive interview.

"I can tell you that i may be playing in one of the Asian top-flight clubs and i'll not disclose the name of the country and the club to you," he said when pressed for further details of the contract.

The 2006 FIFA World Cup debutant continued: "But we're almost done with everything and if things happen the way it's supposed to be, i'll be travelling to that Asian country and carry on with my career."

"The agent and the club have watched me on several ocassions since i recovered from the ankle injury. I was in Malaysia in 2014 and one club had wanted to sign me, but the coach of that club was sacked and so the deal couldn't materialise. I'm sure and hoping to see myself back in action again so that my fans will finally see Shilla Illiasu back on the field of play,"

Shilla Illiasu had stints with Russian and Armenian sides FC Saturn and Impulse FC respectively.
