Black Stars coach, Otto Addo insists that Joseph Paintsil is below other players in team as he opens the door for a possible call-up.

Ghanaian attacker, Joseph Paintsil is in scintillating form for Genk in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

He has scored four goals and provided one assist in eight games for Genk in the league.

Otto Addo faced a stern backlash after he omitted the in-form attacker.

Ghana are in the same group with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Qatar.

The Black Stars will play Brazil tomorrow before meeting Nicaragua on Tuesday in their preparations ahead of the World Cup in November-December.

Speaking at the pre-match, Otto Addo insisted that other players are ahead of Joseph Addo as he opened the door for a call-up in the future.

"Joseph [Painstil] is doing very well. It would have been good for him to play the Japan and Chile games to show more of himself but he had problems and decided to leave the team," he said.

"Also, he wanted to start with his team [Genk], this one I can understand. Surely, I can just judge what I see.

"At the moment, I see others ahead of him but I think Joseph is a good player. He's not with the squad now, it doesn't mean everything is gone. Anything can still happen, we are monitoring all the players, and their performances so the gate is not closed," he added.
