Ghana Football Association President, Kurt E.S Okraku, has stated categorically clear that he's never asked any coach of the Black Stars to select players of his choice as speculated for the past years since he assumed the big position.
There has been so many rumours that, the Ghana FA boss sometimes asks coaches of the Black Stars to select players of his interest and not only in the Black Stars but also in all the various men national teams.
Responding to those allegations earlier today when he appeared before the Parliament Select Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism, Kurt Okraku denied those reports and added he will jettison any coach that will allow him impose players on him.
“If I hire a coach and the coach expects me to select players for him I will fire the coach. I’m repeating myself, if I hire a coach for Ghana and that coach expects me, Kurt to select players for him, that coach will be fired the next day because that is not the kind of coach I and we want to work with.
“Players for the Black Stars are selected by the technical team of the Black Stars led by the current coach Otto Addo. Simple,” coach Okraku stated.
Coach Otto Addo is expected to announce his squad for the Sudan double header very soon in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
