Following an impressive performance in Ghana's World Cup qualification victory over Nigeria, U.S Cremonese striker Felix Afena Gyan has shared the impactful words spoken by his former coach Jose Mourinho.

Recalling the moment, Afena Gyan vividly remembers Mourinho's words directed at him after the match, in front of his AS Roma teammates. Mourinho highlighted the exceptional performance and work rate displayed by Afena Gyan on the field against the Nigerian team.

"I remember when I returned to Roma, Mourinho gathered the team and pointed at me, saying, 'You see this guy? He runs like an animal. Alone, he pressed everybody. If you don't do this here at Roma, I will kill you,'" Afena Gyan reveals in an interview with Saddick Adams on Youtube.

Mourinho's words left a lasting impact on Afena Gyan, serving as a strong motivation to maintain his high standards and dedication on the field. They emphasized the importance of giving his best for the Roma team.

Although Afena Gyan played a significant role in Ghana's qualification for the 2022 World Cup, he was not included in the final 26-man squad for the tournament held in Qatar.

At just 20 years old, Afena Gyan has represented the Black Stars on seven occasions, scoring one goal.
