Former Black Stars attacker, Laryea Kingston has said that it's not anytime that a striker will receive the ball when he makes a run.
He stressed that strikers are urged to create spaces by stretching opponents using runs.
Ghana's all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan criticised Black Stars midfielders for not finding Inaki Williams when he ran into the channels against Nicaragua.
Ghana defeated Nicaragua by 1:0 courtesy Sporting Lisbon attacker Issahaku Abdul Fatawu.
Before that, Ghana had already lost to Brazil by 3:0 last week.
Ghana will face Uruguay, South Korea and Portugal in Group H of the World Cup.
Laryea Kingston insists that it's not everytime that a striker receives that ball when he makes a run.
“I know most of the players that he played with, they are not used to him. He made a lot of positive runs, very good runs that created a lot of spaces for Kudus Mohammed, Fatawu Issahaku and Osman Bukari around the box,” Laryea Kingston told Radio Gold.
“Sometimes you encourage strikers to make runs to deceive the opponents, just to stretch the opponents across the pitch.
“So it’s not necessary that if you make a run, you will get the ball.
“I’m sure Inaki Williams, where he has played football up to, understands all these dynamics in the game," he added.
