Black Maidens coach Joe Nana Adarkwah has praised his players for their display against Brazil after Ghana battled to a 3-3 draw in their second Group C match at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Ghana responded to their opening 3-0 defeat to Norway with an improved performance against the South Americans, although they were unable to turn their efforts into a victory.

Ghana’s goals against Brazil were scored by Rafia Osman and Gloria Adomako Ameaa and Priscilla Mensah.

After coming back to twice to salvage a point, the experienced gaffer expressed elation and has hugely praised his girls for their performance.

“We did very well. We are in one of the toughest groups, but I'm proud of my girls,” Adarkwah told FIFA Media.

He also admitted that his young side still had areas to improve, particularly in front of goal, after creating several opportunities following their equaliser.

“After equalising, we had so many chances, but they are young, they are learning, so we have a lot to do with the girls, but I'm happy for them,” he added.

The Black Maidens will next face Canada on Saturday, October 24, as they seek their first win of the tournament.
