Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has hailed the return of Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew from suspension as a crucial boost for the team’s campaign.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, January 2, van Nistelrooy underlined Ayew’s significance as the Foxes prepare for their Premier League showdown against Aston Villa on Saturday, January 4.
“We’re delighted to have Jordan Ayew back after his suspension, which is a big boost for us,” van Nistelrooy remarked.
The manager also provided updates on Wout Faes, who has resumed training with the squad after recovering from injury, stating, “Wout has been training individually but joins the team today, so we’re hopeful to have him as an option soon.”
Ayew missed Leicester’s recent clash with Manchester City due to a one-game suspension for accumulating yellow cards. His return bolsters the attacking lineup as Leicester aims to secure a vital result in their next fixture.
The Black Stars forward will be instrumental as the Foxes look to climb the Premier League standings in the second half of the season.
