With immediate effect, the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has issued a temporary ban on Kenpong Academy FC from holding their home games at the Swedru Stadium.
The decision was made following unfortunate incidents that occurred during Matchday 23 between Kenpong FC and New Edubiase FC on April 17, 2023.
The ban is based on Article 14(2) of the GFA Division One League Regulations which states that the GFA may order the closure of any league center where the safety of clubs, match officials or spectators cannot be guaranteed.
The Competitions Department is expected to determine an alternative venue for the club's subsequent home matches, in compliance with the Division One League Regulations.
However, this ban does not preclude the Disciplinary Committee's decision regarding the case pending before it, which will be heard according to the relevant regulations.
