Greater Accra’s sole representative in the GFA modeled second edition of the KGL Championship, Great Corinthians FC have been crowned winners after beating fellow finalist from Tamale in a thrilling final encounter of the competition.
The champions of Greater Accra, after winning the Accra North district U17 division went into the competition with an unbeaten record surpassing all odds.
The “Never Lose Hope” boys started of the competition brilliantly with 3 straights wins which placed them in pole position as favorites to win the championship in their debut participation.
The most anticipated final had many looking out for a very beautiful game of football from young boys with sights to be the next future star from Ghana, the game lived to the billing with excellent football showcased by both teams. And in the end the best team of the day won in style.
The KGL U17 championship is competition by the Ghana Football Association to uplift grassroots football in the country and to give youth football teams platforms to exposing players to the youth national teams with the Ghana U17 national team a keen focus.
