Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams has stressed the urgency for radical transformation in Ghana's sports sector in light of the recent bad performances.

The Ghana Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 Afcon for the first time in 21 years, securing just three points from their six matches in Group F, which included Angola, Sudan, and Niger.

In an interview with Joy Sports, Adams stated that; "Our recent sporting performances highlight the urgency of this reset," the Minister said.

"Ghana's failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco and our inability to send a single boxer to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games should not just be seen as disappointments but as a signal that our development system needs urgent attention."

Ghana will host Chad's Les Sao on March 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The Black Stars will face Madagascar three days later in the two must-win fixtures.
