Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare has voiced his support for Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, calling him one of the best in the game.

In an interview with Asante Kotoko's media team following his call-up to the Black Stars, Asare emphasized the importance of backing the national team's head coach. "Working with him is a great thing for me. I’ve learnt a lot. He is a ball-playing coach who always likes to play from the back with the goalkeeper, so having him as your coach gives you that confidence. Even upon several mistakes, he still tries and encourages you to always do the best," Asare said.

He added, "For me, I think that he is one of the best coaches Ghana can ever have, so I believe that we should trust in him and support him."

Frederick Asare joined the Black Stars camp on Thursday, May 30. The team is set to begin training on Friday in preparation for their upcoming qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
