Asante Kotoko newbie, Emmanuel Antwi has expressed elation after marking his debut and also winning first silverware for the club and extended a huge thanks to the fans for their unending support.

The Porcupine Warriors made it three out of three over their eternal rivals Hearts of Oak, having beaten them by 2-1 last Wednesday night at the Accra Sports Stadium to lift the maiden Democracy Cup- a game organized to be part of activities to mark the 30th anniversary of Ghana Parliament.

The mercurial playmaker who joined just recently, debuted with a full time action and was involved in the build up that led to the penalty that handed the Reds the opener through Justice Blay.

Asamoah Boateng Afriyie levelled the score for the Phobians just few minutes into the second half before Peter Acquah Amidu subsequently restored the lead with a sumptuous hit to earn the win.

Reacting to the victory, the 25-year-old shared this on his official handle on X; "Democracy Cup won. Thank you for the love and support."

Emmanuel Antwi will hope to continue to improve during preseason in order to gel into the team very well and to also help the 'Kum Apem' lads achieve more success going forward.

Asante Kotoko after the win, will now play Major League Soccer side DC United in a friendly game in Washington.
