The search for the top position for the first time this season will be at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for Kumasi Asante Kotoko against Bechem United in week nineteen (19) of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been on an impressive run of form for the past twelve games in the nineteen-week old league after a poor run of display in the early exchanges of the league where they picked only five (5) points after week seven (7) but has gone stretch to amass points to reach them second on the league.
The anger to be on top of the league to give them the tonic to approach the reminder of the league games with the mindset of winning the league and going back to Africa will be in monstrous for the porcupine warriors against Bechem United.
Having recorded a better second round of games in this season's league, yet to lose a game, the manner in which Kotoko will enter this game with will be in a morale booster to continue this fine form having had Bechem United halting the clubs MTN FA Cup run in the quarter finals at the same venue.
However, Bechem United led by Manuel Zachariah will be psychologically ahead of Kotoko being victorious in their last meeting in Kumasi though his side has enjoyed only a win out of their nine (9) meetings in the league.
Again, Bechem United were on song in week eighteen (18) when they thrashed fellow Ahafo side, Berekum Chelsea by two goals to nil whiles their opponents in week nineteen (19) had a pulsating one all draw against Inter Allies in week eighteen (18).
Bechem United will be all but ready for action against Kotoko to push them further away of the bottom of the league as anything else will see them fall from their current status to a highly unresuscitable position.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko's climbing the league top will be hugely dependant on their result against Bechem United as a win will likely see them there if only WA All Stars gets something contrary to victory in Sogagope against WAFA on Sunday.
