Former Ghanaian winger, Laryea Kingston, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Black Starlets, Ghana's U17 national team.
Kingston, who previously served as an assistant to Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito, has been with the team since 2022.
The decision to promote Kingston to the role of head coach was made by the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
Assisting Kingston in his new role will be former Hearts of Oak star Jacob Nettey and Nana Agyemang. Agyemang holds a CAF License A and UEFA License B certificates, bringing a wealth of coaching experience from his previous work with Adenta United, Barbarossa Academy, the Lizzy Sports Complex Academy, and ProGen Football Club.
The Black Starlets are currently in preparation for the WAFU U17 Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ghana. Additionally, they are set to participate in a U17 invitational tournament in Russia later this month as part of their preparations for the WAFU championship.
With aspirations to qualify for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2017, the Black Starlets are focused on building a competitive squad under the guidance of Kingston and his coaching team.
