President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo-Addo has urged Kurt Okraku to allow Otto Addo free hands to operate in the Black Stars squad selection.

Otto Addo is expected to name his provisional squad for the World Cup today.

Ghana will face Uruguay, South Korea and Portugal in Group H.

Ghana will play Switzerland in a pre-World Cup friendly on 17th November, three days to the start of the mundial.

Ghana will lock horns with Portugal in their first group stage game on 24th November.

Speaking at the seat of parliament, Nana Akuffo-Addo advised Kurt Okraku to allow Otto Addo to select the squad for the World Cup.

"I was impressed with the technical team, the way they handled the qualification and that is the reason why I recommended for their permanent stay and you did that. I think it is the best possible basis on which to go” he told a delegation headed by Kurt Okraku.

“But having chosen the technical team, I will implore you (Kurt Okraku) to leave them to choose the players for the World Cup. I think that the people who run football clubs know what it is that you require of a good coach.

“But what is always a problem is Ministers, President and others influencing players on coaches, we don’t want it that way because we have confidence in the people you have chosen. I think we’ve got a very good technical team of Otto Addo, Chris Hughton, George Boateng and Didi Dramani," he added.
