Laryea Kingston, former Black Stars attacker, has cautioned the team and Ghanaians to not underestimate Panama ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup which is seven months away from now.

The draw was held last Friday at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington DC, paving way for what will be another entertaining tournament in USA, Canada and Mexico.

Ghana was drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama

Right after the draw, many believe the game against Panama is going to be an easy one with some pundits already charging the Black Stars to at least winning that game at all cost

However, Laryea Kingston who made 41 appearances for the Black Stars, says the game against England will be very interesting but warned that they shouldn’t underrate Panama and should approach the game with so much determination.

“It was exciting seeing Ghana paired in same group with England. We all know England is the second home for Ghanaians. We use to play our friendly games there. Our game against England will exciting” he said.

“Ghana is in a tough group. I will advise the Black Stars not to underestimate Panama. Their qualification to the tournament was not just by fluke” he said.

Laryea Kingston is now the head coach of the Uganda youth national teams and has already qualified their U-17 to the next CAF Youth Championship
