Defender Marvin Senaya has reported to Ghana’s training camp in Vienna, drawing a line under a recent international eligibility dispute involving Togo.

The 25-year-old AJ Auxerre right-back joined the Black Stars squad on Monday as they prepare for friendly matches against Austria and Germany.

His arrival effectively ends speculation over his international future after he was named in both Ghana and Togo plans. Togo coach Patrice Neveu had included Senaya in his squad for upcoming fixtures against Guinea and Niger, saying the player had given a verbal commitment.

That claim drew attention partly because Senaya’s father, Yao Mawuko Senaya, is a former Togo international.

However, the Ghana Football Association secured the defender’s services, with the player opting to represent the country of his mother.

Senaya has made 20 appearances and scored once for Auxerre this season and is expected to strengthen Ghana’s defensive options.

Meanwhile, he trained fully with the Black Stars for the first time on Monday
