The female national U-17 Women's team failed to qualify for the next edition of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup after losing to Morocco on penalty shootouts in the final qualification round.

Ghana suffered a 2-0 away defeat to their Moroccan counterpart in a reverse leg tie in Rabat on Saturday evening.

 
Prior to the commencement of the game, four starters of the Ghana U17 team namely Rose Boakyewaa, Magdalene, Faiza Abdulai and Deborah Brown were exempted from the team after testing positive for COVID-19.
 
Fatima El Ghazouani and an own goal from Afi Amenyeku cancelled out Ghana's 2-0 advantage to push the fixture into a penalty shootouts.
 
The Moroccan U17 side defeated the Black Maidens 4-2 on the penalty shootouts to secure a ticket to the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup which will be played in India from 11th to 30th October.
