Ghana failed to qualify for the 2022 CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations after suffering a painful 1-0 against Burkina Faso at the Cape Coast Stadium in the semi final of the WAFU Championship. 

The Burkinabes started the game on a good note having dominated in the opening minutes in terms of attempts made and possession.

The Black Starlets appealed for an early penalty after Pius Adua was brought down in the box but the referee wasn't interested in that.
 
On the 24th minute, Burkina Faso also made a dangerous incursion following Kamara's explosive run in the box but a timed slide tackle from Richard Aweh resulted their attack into a wasted corner kick. 
 
Just four minutes after, the Young Stallions broke again on the right, initiated by Bamba but his cross to locate Alioum at far post was wide. 
 
Substitute Richard Apokum nearly gave Ghana the lead on the 41st but his swinging delivery was piled out by the Burkina goalie. 
 
In the second half, both teams took the game at each other, and attacked with so much intent and purpose in search for the opener. 
 
The Starlets came so close to scoring on the 60th minute after Andrews Appiah's long range hit bounced but the Burkinabe goalkeeper saw it coming and parried it out.
 
The Young Stallions awarded a penalty on the 63rd minute after Aboubakar Camara was brought down in the box by Collins Agyemang. 
 
Ousmane Camara stepped up and converted decently to hand his side the lead. His fourth goal of the competition.
 
Ghana awarded a free kick on the 67th minute. Abdul Rashid Adam with a decent delivery but missed the post by inches.
 
Ghana kept on pushing for the equalizer, Abdul Razak Salifu with a swift run from the right to launch a shot but again, missed the target by miles.
 
Another penalty appeal on the 76th minute after Andrews Appiah looked striking off the hand of a Burkinabe player but a free kick was given instead. The resulting kick went wide.
 
It ended 1-0 for Burkina Faso after full time. They will face Nigeria in the final.
