The Black Starlets of Ghana got themselves back on winning ways with an emphatic 5-1 win over Serbia in the ongoing UEFA U-16 Invitational Tournament in Volgograd, Russia.
The Starlets were really impressive in the game having played within a very good pattern laid by head coach Laryea Kingston and looked to have improved tremendously in attack.
Abdulai Nortey opened the scoring account for Ghana in just 15 minutes from kickoff, Benjamin Hanson doubled the lead from the spot with Daniel Kwame Koranteng also scoring, all on the stroke of half time.
In the second half, Benab FC's Ebenezer Anane got on the scoresheet on the 63rd minute to grab the team's fourth but the Serbians pulled one back five minutes later.
In the dying embers of the game, Benjamin Tsivanyo scored to seal the victory for Ghana who got the perfect redemption they were seeking for.
The two-time world champions will use this as preparations towards the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship which will be held in Ghana in the middle of next month, which will also serve as qualification to the Africa Youth Championship.
Ghana, will now face Kazakhstan in their final game to wrap up the competition.
