Techiman Eleven Wonders have been relegated to the Division One League after five years in the Ghanaian top-flight league, despite earning victory over Aduana Stars on the final day of the season.
Eleven Wonders ended their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season's campaign with a 2-1 home win over Aduana Stars in a regional derby at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman.
Eleven Wonders started the fixture with an intense pressure on the visitors to opened the score through Michael Yeboah on the 18th minute.
Eleven Wonders managed to hold on the 1-0 advantage for the first depart of the game which they dominated from the first minute till the recess.
In the second half, Eleven Wonders continued to enjoy majority of the possession as they doubled their lead through Michael Yeboah — his second goal on the day — on the 62nd minute.
Aduana Stars, who have recorded their worst-ever second round performance in their history, pulled one back on the 79th minute but it wasn't enough to secure them a point as they ended their 2021/22 season's campaign with a winless streak in fourteen matches.
The 2-1 home win against Aduana Stars could not rescue Eleven Wonders from relegation on the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League final-day.
The Techiman-based club will, however, compete in the Division One League in the 2022/23 season.
Aduana Stars finished the season on the 11th position with 45 points whereas Wonders placed 16th with 40 points.
