Reigning National Women's Premier League champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies recorded a 3-0 heavy win over the female senior national team of Togo in a friendly on Friday evening.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies made a trip to Togo's capital to battle out with the Sparrow Hawks Ladies in a preparatory game at the Kegue Stadium.
The Techiman-based Women's Premier League dominated the first half with some goal glaring opportunities but they failed to make their chances count as it ended in a scoreless draw after 45 minutes.
After lack of goals in the first half of the game, Ampem Darkoa continued their dominance over the Togolese women's national team to open the score after hour-mark through Elizabeth Owusua.
Two-goal hero Elizabeth Owusua opened the floodgate for Ampem Darkoa with a brilliant strike on the 75th minute before grabbed the second goal, six minutes later to hand her side a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Last season's National Women's Premier League best player Constance Agyemang, who joined Ampem Darkoa Ladies recently from Berry Ladies, completed their demolition exercise in Lome over Togo with a cool finish on the 87th minute of the game.
The match served as a preparatory game for Togolese, who are making a debut appearance in the Africa Women's Cup of Nations (AWCON) slated for next month in Morocco. The 2022 AWCON will be played from 2nd July to 23rd July, 2022.
Ampem Darkoa are also preparing for WAFU B qualifying tournament after winning their third Women's Premier League title and first since 2017 by defeating Hasaacas 5-4 triumph on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
They also dethroned Hasaacas Ladies in the Ghanaian Women's Cup after recording a 1-0 win over the most successful female club in the country at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last weekend.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies will represent Ghana at the WAFU B qualifying tournament in Cote d'Ivoire from August 13 to 27 in Abidjan, where they will seek qualification to the 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League.
