Asante Kotoko record 4-2 on penalties win over Bechem United to advance into round 32 of the MTN FA Cup after a 2-2 stalemate after regulation time.

The Porcupine Warriors looked like starting with a revenge mindset after losing to the same opposition in the league few months ago.

It has been the red shirts all over right from onset which eventually got them the opener in just five minutes from kickoff through Steven Mukwala.

Just three minutes after, the Ugandan forward sealed his brace and doubled Kotoko's lead with running to the end of a fine mirror pass to plot into the back of the net- marking his fifth of the season in all competitions.

Bechem United never surrendered after going down and attacked with so much purpose which eventually got Isaiah Nyarko a goal on the 18th minute to reduce the deficit.

An even exchange encounter couldn't create another as it finished 2-1 for Kotoko at half time.

Back from recess, the Hunters returned on a blistering note in search for the equalizer but Francis Twene was dispossessed by Richard Boadu from what seemed like a dangerous counter break. The culprit went into the referee's book.

The visitors given a corner kick again on the 56th minute but Frederick Asare was equal to the task after jumping high to grab the deep delivery.

Mukwala beautifully combined with Eric Zeze to complete his hatrick but was dispossessed to a wasted corner kick.

And on the 70th minute, Bechem United scored again to draw back on level terms, kind courtesy Francis Twene's deflected free kick. Just what they kept on toiling for.

Seth Kwadwo came so close to securing the third and would have been a huge upset in Kumasi but his follow up effort from a wasted corner kick was dealt with nicely by Frederick Asare.

It ended 2-2 after full time. Asante Kotoko won 4-2 on penalties.
