Head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Arnyas Tanko, remains confident his side can secure victory when they face Attram De Visser Academy in the quarter-final of the MTN FA Cup.

The Orange-Blues head into the game with so much confidence despite being touted underdogs, after establishing themselves as giant killers in the competition.

The renowned academy, owned by former Ghanaian international Godwin Attram, eliminated current Ghanaian champions Bibiani GoldStars and Eleven Wonders in the last round.

Despite all these, Ibrahim Tanko believes his players remain focused and determined to deliver a positive result for their supporters.

He further admitted that the team recently endured a difficult outing but insists the focus is now on improving and responding strongly in the FA Cup encounter.

“No, I think if a supporter comes to the stadium, he’s looking at his team to win so that he will go home very happy. We the technical team and the players are the same — we want to win the game,” he told Medi TV.

“Like I said, we had a very bad day looking at how the game went. But this team has also given the supporters a lot of happiness. I don’t think this is the time they have to abandon the team.”

“We still have nine games to play and the next is the MTN FA Cup. So we are preparing for that and hope that we’ll go to the next one,” he added.

The two sides will battle for a place in the next stage of the competition at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, March 15, with kickoff scheduled for 19:00 GMT (7:00pm).
