Coach Prince Owusu is confident his side will beat their Congolese counterparts in the CAF Confederation Cup game on Sunday.
Ghana's sole representative in the competition will be hosting TP Mazembe this weekend at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.
“Like I said the last time, our destiny to qualify to the semi-finals is in our hands, and like we did against Young Africans, we need to be flawless against Mazembe because they are a very good side. The team is still preparing for the game on Sunday and I believe that we will get a good result,” he told Cafonline
“As it stands now we have the brightest chance of qualifying to the semi-final if we take our chances and attack them like we did in the previous game. I have watched a few clips of their games and even had first-hand information when we played against them in Lubumbashi. Hopefully, we can push for the win and take it up from there,” Owusu added.
TP Mazembe have already qualified for the semis, and coach Prince Owusu says the central African country giants will not compromise for a soft game in their clash against his side despite their qualification.
“Everybody knows the pedigree of Mazembe when it comes to football in Africa and we are aware of the threat they pose as a team even though they have already qualified to the semi-final. But that will no matter on Sunday because they will also want to keep their good run in the competition intact so there's nothing like an easy match. On the contrary, we are envisaging a tough game, but we are confident of winning.”
The first tie in Lubumbashi ended when the Yellow and Mauves lads lost 3-1 to Mazembe.
