AS Monaco centre-back Mohammed Salisu is set to make his debut appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Salisu, who recovered from an injury layoff earlier this month, has returned to the Black Stars and is in line to play for the team after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The 24-year-old has been battling injuries after sealing a move from Southampton FC to AS Monaco and was able to make his debut for the French giants on December, 09, 2023 against Stade Rennes. He has made three appearances for AS Monaco so far in his debut season.
Salisu has been capped six times for the senior national team of Ghana with two goals to his credit.
The Black Stars of Ghana have been scheduled to commence preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Kumasi on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Coach Chris Hughton's side will play the senior national team of Namibia in an international friendly on January 7, 2022 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars will be based in Cote D'Ivoire nation capital, Abidjan and will begin their Group B campaign against Cape Verde on January 14, 2022.
Ghana will take on record-title holders Egypt in the match-day two on January 18 before they play against Mozambique on January 22, 2022.
