Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has issued a passionate call to supporters to storm the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in full force on Sunday as the Porcupine Warriors battle Golden Kick SC in the MTN FA Cup final.
The stakes are high for Kotoko, who are not only chasing domestic silverware but also a coveted slot in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup. A win would secure the club’s return to continental football—a key objective for Zito and his team.
In a pre-match interview, the experienced coach emphasized the importance of fan support and how crucial it could be in helping the team secure victory.
“This is a big opportunity for us to return to Africa. Every Kotoko player wants that, and we need our fans behind us. Without them, it won’t be possible,” Zito said.
“Until we go back to Africa, we haven’t fulfilled our goal—because Kotoko’s name was built on African success.”
Kotoko will face Golden Kick SC, a lower-tier side that has stunned top-flight teams en route to the final. Despite the underdog tag on their opponents, Zito is leaving nothing to chance as he looks to guide the Porcupine Warriors to another piece of silverware.
Kickoff for the highly anticipated final is set for 5:00 PM GMT at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
