The chairman of the MTN FA Cup committee, Mr. Kurt Okraku has confirmed that the final for this year's FA Cup will be played in the newly established multi-purposed Cape Coast Sports Stadium
Previous editions of the events' final was played at the Accra Sports stadium until last season when it was moved from Accra to the twin city of Sekondi-Takoradi at the Essipong sports stadium where regional side Medeama SC triumphed over Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
This year's final of the tournament will be staged in Cape Coast to fulfill the promise set by the competition committee to have a regional rotation of the final games.
The 15,000 capacity stadium which was officially opened to the general public on the 3rd of May, 2016 will have a taste of competitive football in the MTN FA Cup final this year as the competition has already reached its quarter final stage.
The competition enters its sixth season after it went on abeyance for almost ten years and it is on record that Medeama SC has won it twice more than any other club in its reversed formats with Kumasi Asante Kotoko appearing in four times in the finals during that interval winning only one.
