Medeama SC head coach, Augustine Evans Adotey has expressed delight after booking CAF Champions League group stage spot and believes they deserve to be praised for that sensational campaign in the preliminary round.

The Mauves and Yellows sealed their money zone qualification with a vital 4-3 on aggregate win over Guinean giants Horoya AC- who have been a household name in the competition for the past five years.

But that was after the Ghanaian champions had started the qualifiers series with a penalty shootout victory over Nigerian fold Remo Stars after a 1-1 on aggregate scoreline.

Reacting to the qualification, the ex- Black Maidens gaffer says the task handed to him has been accomplished after cruising into the main competition and added he and his players deserve all accolades they are getting now.

"I am delighted because my mission here is fulfilled. We deserve applause."

"Coming [into the game] 3-1 against Horoya this time wasn't easy. Although we lost, I am delighted because we have gone past Horoya to the next round. A young Medeama side playing an experienced Horoya was not an easy task."

Medeama SC league defence has started on a jittery note as they currently sit at the foot of the table with just a point from their opening two games; drawing at home to Accra Lions and losing at Aduana Stars in day two.

They will welcome newbies Nations FC this Wednesday at the Akoon Park in match-day 3 of the Ghana Premier League.
