The experienced football administrator is championing the dissolution of the current nation's football governing body through a dialogue between the Ghana government and the world's football governing body

Veteran Ghanaian football administrator Fitzgerald Barkers Woode has called for the disbandment of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) by the Ghana government regardless of the repercussions likely to emanate from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

The direct-speaking administrator believes that such a drastic measure and approach ought to be adopted by the west African powerhouse in saving the dwindling fortunes of the nation's sporting discipline going forward.

Fitz argues that since the various national football teams and their management body are being taken care of by the taxpayers money, then there is the need for accountability of the state financial resources, hence government must step in to intervene by dissolving the GFA in reforming the football sector with the engagement of FIFA.

Speaking in an interview, the experienced football administrator has fired to state-owned daily newspaper Graphic Sports: ''The government must write to FIFA to explain to them that we want to dissolve the current FA for reforms in the football sector, and this is the only way we can save our football because what is happening now is pathetic.''

He added: ''Is FIFA aware that the taxpayer pays the FA and the Black Stars, but they don’t want accountability? This is not fair. I call this taxation without representation.''
