Nations FC captain, Razak Simpson has been included in the Black Stars squad for the second consecutive time and has expressed his excitement upon hearing the news and is looking forward to the challenge.

Coach Otto Addo came out with a list of 23 players last Friday for Ghana's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar next week.

Simpson's first invite was in November last year and gave a very good account of himself when handed the opportunity against Niger and Angola in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers.

He has since continued with his outstanding form and currently has two goals to his belt in 17 Premier League matches.

Speaking after the announcement, the stalwart center-back, who will be available against Medeama SC tomorrow in GPL week 24, expressed elation and has added he is ever ready and poised for the challenge.

"Words cannot describe how I feel right now. Being called up to the national team again gives me chills. I want to thank Otto Addo and the coaching staff for having faith in me once more."

The four-time African champions are currently sitting in second place in Group I of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with 9 points, having won three and lost one after four matches.

The Black Stars will pitch camp on Monday, March 17, where they hold four training sessions before they take on Chad on March 21.

They will travel to Al Hoceima in Morocco afterwards to play Madagascar in match-day six on March 24.
