Abdul Manaf Umar highlights collective effort as key to Nsoatreman FC's 2-1 triumph over Legon Cities.
Midfielder Abdul Manaf Umar of Nsoatreman FC credited his team's hard work and unity for their impressive 2-1 victory against Legon Cities in the MTN FA Cup semifinal clash at Sogakope's Red Bull Arena.
With goals from Foster Apertorgbor and Mohammed Abdul Rahman securing a comfortable 2-0 lead for Nsoatreman FC before half-time, the team faced a challenge as Legon Cities managed to narrow the gap with a goal from Kwaku Williams Adjei in the 60th minute. However, Nsoatreman FC held their ground, clinching the win and advancing to the final.
Reflecting on the match, Manaf emphasized the demanding nature of semifinals and highlighted the importance of teamwork in securing the victory.
"It was a very difficult game and I think we worked hard and we played as a team. That's what gave us the victory".
He stressed the necessity of hard work, especially in such crucial encounters where a win means a ticket to the final.
"A semifinal is very difficult because when you win, you are going to the final. So it's going to be tough unless you work hard. So we worked hard."
Looking ahead to the final showdown against Bofoakwa Tano on June 23, Manaf expressed confidence in his team's ability to continue their diligent efforts and prepare for the upcoming challenge.
"That's what gave us the victory. Now we will go back and continue the hard work and we will wait for the final," he added.
Meanwhile, Bofoakwa Tano secured their spot in the final with a thrilling 2-1 victory over defending champions Dreams FC, setting the stage for an exciting showdown between two determined teams.
