Ghana’s group opponents at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Panama, have announced two friendly matches in four days against South Africa in the upcoming March international window. 

The Canal Men secured their second ever qualification to the ‘Coppa Mundial’ after bossing Group A that comprised of Suriname, Guatemala and El Salvador of the qualifying series with a stunning unbeaten run. 

They have been housed in Group L alongside England, Croatia and four-time African champions Ghana at the global showpiece which comes off in four months time.

The Panama FA have announced that they have arranged two friendlies against the Bafana Bafanas on March 27 & 31, as they believe these games will serve as the perfect test for themselves especially having an African opposition in their group. 

Also, this will be the first time ever that the Panama senior national team will be playing football in Africa. 

The Red Tides will face Ghana in their opening game of the 2026 World Cup on June 17, 2026.
