The Ghana Police Service have embarked on manhunt for two unidentified fans of Bofoakwa Tano FC, who allegedly attacked Coach Maxwell Konadu after a Ghana Premier League game at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday.

The head coach of Nsoatreman FC, Maxwell Konadu was physically attacked by supporters of Bofoakwa Tano when the match-week eleven of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League had ended in a 0-0 draw.

 

The former Black Stars assistant coach was rushed to the Sunyani Regional Hospital after being brutalized by the fans of the home team.

 

Supporters of Bofoakwa Tano vented their anger of sharing spoils with Nsoatreman FC to beat the former Black Stars assistant coach to pulp after the game.

 

The Ghana Police Service in a statement announced that they are on a manhunt for two individuals, who were involved in the physical assault on Nsoatreman FC coach Maxwell Konadu.

 

The statement reads “The Police are on a manhunt for two persons who attacked the coach of Nsoatreman FC, Mr. Maxwell Konadu, during a football game, yesterday, 19th November 2023, at the Sunyani Coronation Park.”

 

“The coach who sustained a head injury during the attack is currently receiving medical attention.”

 

“We wish to assure the public that we will surely get the suspects arrested to face justice.”

 

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has imposed an indefinite ban on the Sunyani Coronation Park following the barbaric incident.
