Nations FC head coach, Kasim Ocansey Mingle, has affirmed Razak Simpson's invite as he believes the player has been so good and should have been invited long ago.

The enterprising center-back was included in coach Otto Addo's squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

Simpson has been sensational since joining the Eagles and has been handling the captaincy role very well since handed band and has made 9 league appearances so far this season.

The 26-year-old is currently with the senior national team in the capital and has already trained twice with the squad as part of the newbies and is expected to finally make his debut. 

Reacting to the call-up, the enterprising gaffer backed his captain's invitation and added he really deserves it.

When pressed on whether his absence will affect them in their next game against Kototo, Mingle stated he has lots of options to replace him and that they will be fine 

"Razak Simpson absolutely deserves this. His call-up to the Black Stars should have come sooner."

"We're building a strong team so if any player is unavailable, we will have capable replacements."

Ghana faces Angola in Luanda on Friday, November 15, before they host Niger at Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18, 2024, to wrap up the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
