African giants Al Ahly have begun negotiations with Hearts of Oak for the service of their marksman Daniel Afriyie Barnieh who has is still reluctant on extending his contract.
The 'Phobians' have tried all means to maintain the enterprising forward but looks like the player has already made up his mind and is willing for a new challenge elsewhere.
Barnieh has been with Hearts of Oak for almost three years now and has won them five trophies including the prestigious GPL which had eluded them for over a decade.
Speculations earlier are that, clubs from Sweden, Norway and Saudi Arabia have all shown strong interest, having monitored him for quiet a long time now.
However, Egyptian giants Al Ahly are the latest to join the race as they look to establish a formidable side to compete for both the league and CAF Champions League in tbe ongoing season.
Just recently, he played a vital role in helping the Black Galaxies qualify for the CHAN after a long drought and replicated the same performance with the Black Meteors in the U-23 Championship qualifiers.
He was also part of the Black Stars final 26 man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which is still ongoing in Qatar.
