Accra Great Olympics' versatile player Samuel Abbey-Ashie Quaye has been called up by the Ghana Under-23 national team to begin preparation for the last round of the 2023 Total Energies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 21-year-old was named in a list that included 23 other players and are expected to report at the Ghanaman soccer Centre of Excellence at 2pm on Monday, February 27, 2023.
The callup rewards Quaye for his excellent form in Ghana's elite league, with the versatile player scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assist in 14 appearances for the 'Dade Boys.'
The Congolese lost the slot after fielding an unqualified player in matches against Ethiopia and Algeria in the 1st and 2nd round stages of the qualifiers.
The next edition of the Total Energies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Morocco.
