President of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama paid a visit to the senior men national team on Wednesday during their third training session at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.

Coach Otto Addo and his men are in serious preparations hoping to get themselves adequately prepared and poised for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in this international window.

Preparing to get into their third session having started pitching camp last Monday, the first gentleman of the land together with his entourage was at the team's training and shared these words with the entire squad ahead of the crunchy and must-win matches coming up.

"I am here on behalf of all Ghanaians as the president of the republic to cheer you guys on and encourage you. Ghanaians have had their hearts broken for the fact that we didn't for the AFCON and even the last time we did we crushed out very early but we haven't given up on you.

"We still believe the Black Stars can find it glory again and it's dependent on you, the technical team and the management committee. We can't come and play the football, but we can make the resources available, we can come to the stadia and cheer you on but eventually the goals will come from these feets right here so it takes sacrifice, it takes strength.

"We all like to watch you when you play for your teams and we expect that you bring some of that dedication to the national team. It's not as lucrative playing here like when you play for your individual teams but still that sense of pride and patriotism that your nation has gone to the World Cup is something that is worth dying for. So let's put everything behind and look forward and know that we can redeem ourselves. I know in the World Cup qualifiers, you will go and redeem yourselves", he concluded

The four-time African champions have three wins and a defeat from their opening four games and very much focused on moving to the summit of Group I after this international break.

The game against Chad is slated for this Friday, March 21, at 19:00GMT (7:00pm)
