Minister of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams has charged Ghana to approach their upcoming international friendlies with a winning mentality, insisting the games are not just for experimentation.
The Black Stars have opened camp in Vienna and held their first training session with all invited players present as preparations intensify ahead of the matches.
However, the latest update is Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer, who has been called up to the Black Stars camp following the withdrawal of Iñaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante, who both sustained knocks during their recent league matches.
Ghana will face Austria on Friday, March 27 at the Ernst Happel Stadium before taking on Germany on March 30, in Stuttgart with both games serving as part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup.
The Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency however, made it clear that results remain a priority despite the friendly nature of the fixtures and has tasked the entire team to head in for nothing but a win
“I’ve told the coaches that these two friendlies, we are going with the mindset of winning, not just going to try players,” he said.
The four-time African champions have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
They will begin their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England on June 23 and concluding the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
