Former Ghana striker, Godwin Attram has stated that although Stepen Appiah's return to the Black Stars will elevate the team, he should be bold enough to outline the expectations of Ghanaians to the team.

The Ghana Football Association on January 18, named Appiah as Vice Chairman of the newly formed Black Stars Management Committee, overseeing player relations.

In his new job, the former Black Stars captain is working closely alongside the Black Stars Management Committee Chairman Dr Randy Abbey, providing essential support to the management team.

Attram believes that with the duo in the fold of the senior national team, the side will deliver the desired results expected of them during matches.

Speaking to Takoradi based Oil City Radio, he bemoaned expectations for Appiah, going ahead to also laud the appointment of Dr Randy Abbey as Chairman for the Black Stars Management Committee.

"Yes, it will help the team because Stephen Appiah has once captained the team before, and Randy Abbey has also been with the Black Stars before.

"He understands what's called administration and has good management skills as well, which can help the team, but in all, I believe Stephen Appiah should be bold enough to speak to the team for them to know what Ghanaians are looking for," he added.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will face Les Sao of Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, at 19:00 GMT before flying out to Morocco to play Madagascar at the Grand Stade d'Al Hoceima on March 24 in the final hurdle of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
