GFA Executive Council member, Nana Oduro Sarfo has openly revealed that, there is no law anywhere in the country that can stop Asante Kotoko from using Otumfour's picture on their jersey.

The Ghanaian champions unveiled their new jerseys for the 2022/23 season couple of days ago and has sparked lots of conversations in the country, most especially in the local media.

Both the home and away kits has the image of their club owner, His Royal Majesty, Otumfour Osei Tutu II printed on it and has triggered lots of controversies in the country with reports stating CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah has been invited at the Manhyia Palace to explain the reasons behind that.

Giving his take on the recent hullabaloo, the Berekum Chelsea CEO has stated Kotoko can go on and use the jerseys in any competition in Ghana but not in the CAF inter-club competitions for now since that will require negotiations with the continent's highest football governing body. He told Abusua FM in Kumasi.

"There's no law in Ghana that prohibits Kotoko from using Asanteman's image on their jersey to play the Ghana Premier League. However CAF have exclusive marketing and commercial rights on all their competitions. Therefore, Kotoko mist negotiate with them before they can use same jersey to play in the Champions League."
