Ghana striker Brandon Thomas-Asante has spoken highly of Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz, calling him “incredible” as the team gears up for their friendly against Wales.
Speaking to Ghana FA media in Cardiff, the 27-year-old said he’s proud to be with the squad and is focused on preparing well for the June 2 clash.
Thomas-Asante looks set to make Ghana’s final 26-man roster for the 2026 World Cup after being included in the 28-player group for the Wales game.
The London-born forward had a strong season with Coventry City, netting 13 goals and providing 4 assists in 34 matches while helping the club secure promotion to the Premier League.
Calling the call-up to Ghana a lifelong dream, he said: “It’s the biggest privilege to play for Ghana. Since I was young, I believed this day would come, and now that I’m here, it’s incredible.”
He also praised Queiroz’s influence on the team: “He’s a great guy. We’re all listening to how he wants us to play and really understanding his ideas. It’s been a blessing.”
Thomas-Asante played an instrumental role in Coventry City's promotion to the English Premier League, having netted 13 goals and provided 4 assists in 32 Championship matches.
