Asante Kotoko marksman, Kwame Opoku has expressed a huge satisfaction after winning the FA Cup over the weekend and added they couldn't have gone trophyless.

The Porcupine Warriors redeemed themselves after losing the league trophy with a precious 1-2 win over Golden Kick FC in the final last Sunday in an epic final at the University of Ghana Stadium

Kwame Opoku netted a brace in the game with his opening goal coming in the 17th minute from a close range header. Bless Ege levelled the score in the second half with a well-taken free kick before the latter converted from the spot in the dying embers to win the 'Kum Apem' lads their tenth league cup

In a post-match interview with 3Sports, the elite poacher didn't hide anything having exhibited a huge excitement since they at least avoided a trophyless campaign

"I will give thanks to Almighty God for winning us this trophy. I'm very happy as a player and for my team because we can't go trophyless for all the hard work we have put in so.

"We were supposed to win the league but unfortunately we couldn't so we had to do something thing at least so I'm very happy."

Asante Kotoko have now officially wrapped up the 2024/25 football season and will represent the country in the CAF Confederations Cup next season

They will regroup very soon again to prepare for the President Cup against bitter rivals Asante Kotoko early next month
